Gothgirls is a community built around goth fashion, music, art, and culture. This content policy outlines what is and isn’t allowed to keep the platform safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Allowed Content
Gothgirls welcomes a wide range of content related to the goth aesthetic and subculture:
- Fashion & outfits — Share your looks, OOTDs, thrift finds, and style inspiration
- Makeup & beauty — Tutorials, product reviews, and makeup looks
- Music — Goth rock, darkwave, post-punk, deathrock, and related genres
- Art & photography — Original art, photography, illustrations, and creative works
- DIY & crafts — Handmade jewelry, clothing modifications, and craft projects
- Discussion — Culture, lifestyle, events, and community topics
- Memes & humor — Goth-related memes and relatable content
- Advice — Fashion advice, music recommendations, and community support
Prohibited Content
The following content is never allowed on Gothgirls, regardless of context:
- Sexual content involving minors — Zero tolerance. Results in permanent ban and report to authorities
- Non-consensual intimate imagery — Including “revenge porn” or secretly captured images
- Gore, extreme violence, or shock content — Including real-world violence and graphic injury
- Terrorism or violent extremism — Content that promotes or glorifies terrorist acts
- Doxxing — Sharing someone’s private information (real name, address, phone, workplace) without consent
- Content that encourages self-harm or suicide
- Illegal content — Drug sales, piracy, fraud, or other illegal activity
NSFW Content
NSFW content is allowed in limited circumstances but must always be properly tagged:
- All NSFW posts must use the NSFW flair — no exceptions
- Lingerie, revealing outfits, and suggestive content is permitted with proper tagging
- Explicit pornography is not allowed — Gothgirls is a fashion and culture community, not an adult content platform
- Artistic nudity may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with NSFW tagging
- Users under 18 should not post or view NSFW content
Intellectual Property
Respect the work of creators:
- Always credit the original creator when sharing their work
- Do not repost content that the creator has asked to be removed
- Do not claim others’ work as your own
- Fan art and transformative works are welcome with proper credit
- If you receive a copyright complaint about your post, comply promptly
Spam & Manipulation
Authentic engagement is central to Gothgirls:
- No vote manipulation, brigading, or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- No bots or automated posting without moderator approval
- No astroturfing or fake engagement
- Self-promotion is allowed only for active community members sharing their own creative work
- Commercial promotion requires moderator approval
Moderation & Removal
Content that violates this policy will be removed. Depending on severity:
- Minor violations receive a warning
- Repeated violations result in temporary or permanent bans
- Severe violations (illegal content, CSAM, doxxing) result in immediate permanent bans
If your content is removed and you believe it was in error, you can appeal through modmail.
